Here’s a short tip for you.  If you are having a hard time with successfully implementing a personal fitness and nutrition lifestyle, I can almost guarantee you part of your problem is your planning.  What is in your fridge right now?  When are you working out on Friday?  What are you eating tonight?  If you don’t know the answers to these questions, that is definitely contributing to you not getting the results and change in lifestyle you are looking for.  You’ll run better on a schedule.  True that some people don’t NEED this to succeed, but I’m willing to bet you most of those that are not succeeding don’t have a plan in place.  If you don’t know what you are eating and when, it leaves you open for options, both good and bad.  If your fridge is not stocked with “good for you” foods, you’ll be more likely to eat “bad for you” foods, and you’ll justify them easier.  “I’ll start tomorrow” is a favorite of a lot of people.

The same can be said for your fitness.  If you don’t follow a schedule, you’ll put something else in place of working out EVERY time, if you are having problems sticking with it.  You need to hold your workouts like a short appointment.  Nothing else takes priority in that time short of an emergency that needs to be tended to right then and there.  If you are unsure of what that means, take the situation and ask yourself, “If I finish this workout before I address the emergency, what more harm will come?”.  If the answer is “nothing” then it isn’t the emergency you need to stop for.

A calendar will help you with getting your life together.  A lot of times if you are struggling, this one thing, planning it all out, will benefit you more than you’d ever imagined.
