Hello there. I’m going on the mother of all road trips in two days. This isn’t any normal road trip, no. It’s a two month long, 44 city road trip that doesn’t allow me to be in control of a lot of variables, like, when I get to leave, where I get to work out, etc. I’m going on The Total Package Tour with Boys 2 Men, New Kids On The Block, and Paula Abdul. I’ll be doing a lot of the nutrition programming as well as the workouts for Boys 2 Men, and we’ve got a tough task ahead of us. You see, they aren’t kids anymore, and the traveling will take a little bit more out of them than it did when they were in their 20’s. So, let’s get to steppin!
I won’t go over everything that we’ll be doing on the trip, as I’ll be updating a lot and showing you on the fly, but what I will say is PLANNING is of the utmost importance during this trip. If you already have things in order before you hit the road, you’ll be much better off. You won’t be tempted to stop at Peggy Sue’s diner on the road, if you have already had your fill. Starting with a healthy variety of snacks, crunchy, chewy, sweet and “salty” should keep you satiated for a few hours.
The next thing you’ll need to remember is when you eat your actual meals, Make sure they are filling. It’s not a good idea to only eat a little of a real meal and rely on the snacks you get to fill you up. If you do, you’ll likely start to buy more dense snacks, and gas station hot dogs and chocolate bars are soon to follow.
The last tip, hydrate. Yes, you’ll have to go to the bathroom more, but it’ll also keep you from thinking you are hungry. Get enough water, and if you need it, This is where you drink a caffeinated beverage. It’ll help you stay up, as well as keep the cravings slightly at bay.
